Managing the Heat
Singapore is 32-34°C year-round with high humidity. Plan indoor activities between 11am and 3pm — the MRT, malls, and conservatories are all air-conditioned. Early morning beach or park time is comfortable. Hydrate constantly.
Getting Around
The MRT is the best option — all stations have lifts, trains are clean and frequent. Buy an EZ-Link card at the airport (SGD 12 including credit). Grab works for anywhere without good MRT access. Avoid driving — parking is expensive and complex.
Feeding the Kids
Singapore hawker centres have something for even the fussiest eaters — chicken rice, noodle soups, roti prata, and fried rice are universally accessible. Most food courts in malls have Western options too. Kaya toast for breakfast is universally loved by children.
Health & Safety
Singapore's medical care is world-class. Raffles Medical, Mount Elizabeth, and KKH Women's & Children's Hospital provide excellent family healthcare. Bring any prescription medications — some may not be available over-the-counter. Dengue is present but risk is low in tourist areas.

Universal Studios Singapore (Sentosa) is the top choice for ages 5 and up. For older children, Pulau Ubin island cycling is an unforgettable adventure.
The MRT is fully accessible — all stations have lifts and level boarding. Buses are more variable but most have designated spaces. Grab/taxi is the easiest option with a stroller. Major attractions (Universal Studios, Gardens by the Bay) are stroller-accessible throughout.
Singapore is consistently ranked among the world's safest cities. Crime is very low. Roads are well-maintained. Hospitals are world-class (Kandang Kerbau Hospital is Asia's best children's hospital). Gardens by the Bay Children's Garden (water play area, free), East Coast Park beach (shallow and safe), Jurong Lake Gardens playground, MRT rides (kids love the elevated sections), Night Safari (starts at 7:30pm — toddlers often love spotting nocturnal animals), and any hawker centre visit (new sights, sounds, and street food to experience).
Singapore's Night Safari at Mandai Wildlife Reserve is the world's first nocturnal wildlife park. Open 7:30pm-midnight. You ride a tram through the park spotting over 900 animals including tigers, leopards, tapirs, and pangolins in near-darkness. Children under 3 are free. Adults SGD 55. Palawan Beach on Sentosa is the most child-friendly — calm shallow water, sandy shore, and the adventure bridge to the southernmost point. East Coast Park has longer beaches with more space to run. Siloso Beach (Sentosa) has beach bars and water sport rental. The water is clean but not crystal-clear — Singapore is not a snorkelling destination.
